Multi-Criteria Decision Making

BLOG Posts

A) -100% Permanent and Total (P&T) veterans have an amazing opportunity in a Department of Education program called Total and Permanent Disability Discharge (TPD).  This Dept. of Education program is not advertised by the VA or DoD.  The TPD program falls into the 'too-good-to-be-true' category.  Read about it in my Total and Permanent Disability Discharge (TPD) blog or at the Dept. of Education under the "Total and Permanent Disability Discharge | Federal Student Aid" section.  This program is especially important for 100% P&T veterans that either don't have enough GI Bill months remaining or if those veterans want to save those GI Bill months for their family.  Read about the TPD program and take advantage today!

B) -100% P&T military retirees can apply to not have federal taxes withheld on military retirement pay.  Overseasveteran.com has the forms required to apply to the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS). [Read the "No Federal Tax Withheld on Military Pension" blog for further information.]

C) -100% P&T veterans can apply for student loan forgivevness.  This does not apply to dependents.  Veteran's student loans must have existed before the veteran received their VA percentage.

D) -100% P&T veterans and dependents are eligible for Chapter 35 Benefits for for either pre-college private school or college montly stipend up to 36 months with the possibility to cover additional school costs such as books.  There is a ceiling dollar amount for both the K-12th grade private school category and the public / private college or university category.

E) -100% P&T property tax forgiveness for Texas, Ohio, Virginia, and possibly other states depending on state legislation along with partial tax relief for many other states.

F) -100% P&T veteran can fly Space-A inside the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa on military Air Mobility Command (AMC) Space-Available flights.  These veterans must also obtain a DD Form 2765, “Department of Defense/Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card (TAN). Dependents of 100% P&T veterans are not eligible for this benefit.  Only military retirees and their dependents are eligible to fly both inside and outside the continental U.S. on Space-A flights.

There are many additional state-specific discount benefits for 100% P&T veterans such as vehicle licensing, fishing / hunting licensing, Florida airport parking for FL DAV license plate holders, the Massachusetts "Welcome Home" bonus that gives $1,000 tax free for MA residents initial GWOT deployment ($500 - $250 for each additional deployment) to name just a few benefits not tied to 100% permanent and total.

Contact Overseasveteran.com for additional information regarding the above benefits.  Please don't be surprised if I send you the link to the VA.gov Chapter that details each benefit.  Your responsibility will be to learn the information and pass it on to other  service members preparing to leave the service.  Thank you in advance for spreading this valuable information.
